Grace Faulconbridge

Grace Faulconbridge, 90, of Grove City passed away peacefully Tuesday at the Grove Manor following an eight-month illness.

Grace was born in Mercer Cottage Hospital, the oldest of three children of Howard and Hazel Knapp McCurdy. She married George C. Faulconbridge on June 6, 1946; he preceded her in death Oct. 14, 1975.

She was a graduate of Stoneboro High School, Class of 1944. Following high school, she worked at Cooper Bessemer as a secretary during World War II.

She was a homemaker and formerly was employed by McCarl's Dress Shop and Bashline Hospital where she did alteration work. Later she worked in medical records at Grove City Hospital and she retired from United Community Hospital.

For many years, Grace, a talented seamstress, did alterations out of her home for many area residents.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing and had been a member of a local card club for close to 60 years. She was a longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Grove City.

Grace is survived by three children, one daughter, Joyce Mong, and her husband, Frank, of Karns City, and two sons, Kenneth C. Faulconbridge and his wife, Sherri L., of Hermitage and Donald R. Faulconbridge and his wife, Lee, of Grove City; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; two great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John McCurdy; and her sister, Zelma McCurdy Feydo.

FAULCONBRIDGE — Visitation for Grace Faulconbridge, who died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Grace United Methodist Church, 220 S. Broad St., Grove City. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Friday at the church.
