Dorothy Mae Sanderson

Dorothy Mae Sanderson, 90, of Butler passed away Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Butler, the daughter of the late William James Black and Ethel Snyder Black.

Dorothy was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Winnebago Travel Club. She enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, playing cards and playing the organ. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy retired from Castle Rubber.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna (Clair) Steighner of Butler; three grandchildren, John (Nicole) Steighner of Butler, Jared Steighner of Butler and Michelle (Joseph) Saeler of Chicora; three great-grandchildren, Jack and Nicholas Steighner and Parker Hollefreund, and one on the way; and her sister, Betty (Ted) McMinn of Palm Harbor, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John “Jack” Sanderson.

SANDERSON — A memorial service for Dorothy Mae Sanderson, who died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 7 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler.Contributions may be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, 16001.The Young Funeral Home in Butler assisted with the arrangements.For more information, visit www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
