Sing Hosanna! to perform 'Jack Frost'
Plans are progressing for the Sing Hosanna! winter dinner theater featuring the show “Yours Truly, Jack Frost.”
It's the tale of an “old-fashioned” method getting an over haul and the ripple effect it has on those involved.
Leah Harris will play the role of Mary Mary who is anything but merry.
“She has a cold personality and treats situations with sarcasm,” the 13-year-old from Muddy Creek Township said.
Leah said that while she is not cold hearted like her character, she thinks her gift with sarcasm helps her succeed in this role. She said she enjoys the opportunity to be a part of Sing Hosanna! productions.
The seventh-grade student at Slippery Rock Middle School last appeared as a “silly girl” in “Beauty and the Beast” in November.
The role of Miss Jingle, Jack Frost's perky secretary. will be played by Nikki Ambrose, 15, of Winfield Township.
“Miss Jingle is happy and enjoys the winter/Christmas season,” Nikki said.
“I also get a ridiculous amount of holiday cheer each year, so I like to channel that into my character,” she said.
Nikki said she, too, enjoys the Sing Hosanna! productions and was delighted to act in this show.
“I love getting to hang out and work with the smaller casts where I know and feel comfortable with everyone,” she said.
“Since the cast is smaller, you get to know everybody you work with and spend time with everyone. Dinner theaters also give you a chance to interact with the audience a bit more than you would in a regular stage production,” she added.
Nikki, a sophomore at Knoch High School, last took the stage as Daria Chase, a widely known gossip columnist, in Knoch's fall play, “The Game's Afoot.”
Also starring in this show are Maxwell McAuley, Jordan Davis, Shannyne Bergbigler, Luke Pfeifer, Jessi Watson, Skylyn Ellison, Conner Yelich, TommyLynn Kilian and Sean Tweed.
