Shirley J. Goldscheitter Coleman

Shirley J. Goldscheitter Coleman, 78, of Buffalo Township passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.

She was born June 4, 1938, in Harrison Township, daughter of the late Julius and Josephine Palko Goldscheitter.

Shirley had lived most of her life in Buffalo Township, where she was a homemaker. She also worked as a registered nurse at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. She attended Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Winfield High School in 1956. She received her registered nursing degree from Allegheny Valley Hospital.

Shirley enjoyed crocheting, bingo and loved going to casinos. She especially enjoyed her family, children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Vicky L. Coleman of Kittanning, Donald A. Coleman of Colorado, Kimberly K. Tanner of Florida, Carol J. Wetzel of Clinton Township, Melissa D. Coleman of Buffalo Township, Mary Jo Coleman of Jefferson Township, Georgetta J. Coleman of Buffalo Township, Jess (Julie) L. Coleman of Amherst, Va., and Carrie A. Coleman of Butler Township; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Edward F. Goldscheitter.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Coleman, on April 3, 2016; her grandson, Bradli N. Coleman, KIA, in 2004 in Iraq; and her sister, Marianne Klabnik.

COLEMAN — Visitation for Shirley J. Goldscheitter Coleman, who died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Duster Funeral Home, 347 E 10th Ave., Tarentum, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday.
