Homer H. Boltz

Homer H. Boltz, 89, of SR 4007, East Brady, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, passed away Wednesday afternoon at his family farm, where he was born and raised.

Homer was born on Sept. 21, 1927. He was the son of the late Henry and Mary Snyder Boltz.

Homer was a well-known beef farmer in Sugarcreek Township. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's Community Church.

Mr. Boltz retired in 1992 from the specialty department at Penreco in Karns City after 37 years of service.

Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Anne Mennor Boltz, on Oct. 20, 1995. The couple was married in Chicora on May 18, 1956.

Mr. Boltz is survived by three children, James B. Boltz and his wife, Laura, of Cranberry Township, Joseph A. Boltz and his wife, Barbara, of East Brady, and Ann Marie Goettler and her husband, Kevin, of Butler; eight grandchildren, Lindsay, Morgan, Brooke, J.C., Carlee, Alison, Megan and Holly; and one great-grandson, Jordan, “The Little Fellow”; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his wife, Homer was preceded in death by four brothers, Foster, John, Meade and Ralph; and five sisters, Margaret Welsh, Madeline Bonnett, Della Shakley, Helen Olcus and Shirley Starr.

BOLTZ — Friends of Homer H. Boltz, who died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora.A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Joseph Bonafed, longtime family friend and former pastor of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, and the Rev. Ryan Lucas, pastor of St. Paul's Community Church, officiating.Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Community Church, 2167 State Route 268, Chicora, PA 16025.For additional information or to send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
