Joseph Leroy Speicher Jr.

Joseph Leroy Speicher Jr., 66, of West Sunbury passed away Thursday at home following a courageous battle with lung and bone cancer.

Joe was born Oct. 17, 1950, to the late Joseph Leroy Speicher Sr. and the late Eva B. Heller Speicher. He was previously employed by Pullman Standard, the Armco Golf Course and most recently the Butler Color Press. Joe enjoyed hunting, watching football and old western shows. He was a member of the Boyers Sportsman's Club and the American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury.

Joe is survived by one sister, Cathy Speicher of Tionesta; three brothers, James Speicher, with whom he made his home, Paul “Shorty” E. Speicher and Jeff Speicher, all of West Sunbury; four nieces, Julie Speicher of West Sunbury, Robin Wallace of Butler, and Tina Wallace and Amy Wallace, both of Tionesta; five nephews, James Speicher Jr., Jesse Speicher and Jeremy Speicher, all of West Sunbury, Paul E. Speicher Jr. of Harrisville and Mark Webb of Butler; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two infant brothers; and one nephew, Michael Speicher.

SPEICHER — The family of Joseph Leroy Speicher Jr., who died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Britton of the United Church of the Nazarene officiating.
