George “Bunk” W. Charlton III

George “Bunk” W. Charlton III, 62, of Butler passed away Saturday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

George was born Oct. 14, 1954, in Parkersburg, W.Va. He was the son of the late George W. II and Helen Queen Charlton.

George had been employed by the Mortise Security Co. at Butler Refrigerated Meats. He enjoyed watching the History Channel, hunting, drawing and coloring. George was a car enthusiast and especially enjoyed the company of his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine M. Hupp Charlton, on Jan. 11, 2016. The couple was married May 19, 1978, in Karns City.

George is survived by a daughter, Charissa Charlton Doyle; two sons, Justin Charlton and his wife, Amber, and Steven Charlton, all of Butler; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson and George was looking forward to the arrival of another great-grandchild in May; three brothers, Lee W. Charlton of Louisiana, Timmy Charlton of Orlando, Fla., and Danny Queen of Florida; one sister, Lisa Charlton of Orlando, Fla.; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

CHARLTON — Friends of George “Bunk” W. Charlton III, who died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, where a funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Interment will be at the Hemphill Cemetery in Chicora.
