John Nestor

John Nestor, 90, of Cabot, formerly of Crawford Drive, Hermitage, passed away peacefully Friday at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

John was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Wheatland, Pa., the son of the late Myron and Anna Lucasuz Nestor. Growing up, he attended Farrell Schools and was presented his high school diploma in 2002, since he missed his graduation because of serving his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II.

He had worked as a pipe fitter at the former Sharon Steel Corp. in Farrell for 48 years before retiring.

John was a member of both the Shenango Valley and Butler County Marine Corp. leagues and also of the F&AM Kedron Lodge 389 of West Middlesex, Pa.

Being a loving father, he truly enjoyed spending time with his family. John was Lutheran.

He was married to the former Dorothy Kramerich Nestor, who died June 10, 2001.

He is survived by his daughter, Val Jean Nestor, and her husband, David Comboy, of Auburn, Wash.; and his son, John J. Nestor, and his wife, Michele, of Valencia, Pa.

Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary Allan Nestor; eight sisters; and one brother.

NESTOR — Calling hours for John Nestor, who died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon, with Masonic burial rites presented at 6:45 p.m. by the F&AM Kedron Lodge 389.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Nelson of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hermitage officiating. Military honors will be presented at the funeral home by the Farrell, Wheatland, West Middlesex Honor Guard. Interment will take place at the Morefield Cemetery in Hermitage.

Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
