WASHINGTON TWP - Bruin Road is still partially shut down after a one-vehicle wreck this morning.

State police say Kaitlyn Thornton, 19, of Bruin, was westbound on Bruin Road at about 8:30 a.m. Monday when her Dodge Caliber hit a patch of ice on the road and went off the road, going airborne and hitting a fence and an embankment before rolling into its side.

Firefighters had to cut the roof off the vehicle to extract Thornton, who was flown to Alleghenies General Hospital with unspecified injuries.
