Every year, I pen you this special list of people with special gift requests for them and every year you come through.

So ... Here we go again.

To SHAWN LUTZ, Slippery Rock University football coach: A healthy starting lineup — all game, every game. He’d probably settle for a couple of games.

To ROB DENSMORE, Butler football coach: A collective determination of the school’s top athletes to turn this thing around once and for all.

To CADE NEGLEY and CONNOR OLLIO, Butler pitchers and prime college prospects: Continued hunger to chase a dream.

To ROBBY CARMODY, Mars junior basketball and national recruit: The right choice.

To the PENN STATE FOOTBALL TEAM: Justice.

To MIKE SULLIVAN, Pittsburgh Penguins coach: A sudden switch of the calender to April, 2017 ... Let’s start the playoffs now.

To the PITTSBURGH PIRATES: Two veteran starting pitchers and the money to pay for them. (If you’ve already given them the latter, Santa, they ain’t showin’ it).

To the MONITEAU SOFTBALL TEAM: One more win.

To the PITT FOOTBALL TEAM: An offensive coordinator as good as the one who’s leaving — and a better bowl game.

To MATT CLEMENT, Butler boys basketball coach: A 6-foot-5 point guard who can do everything ... make him a freshman while you’re at it. You’re right, Santa, stuff like that just doesn’t happen.

To JOE LEWANDOWSKI, Butler girls basketball coach: A 6-foot freshman who can add scoring, rebounding, a critical blocked shot or two ... and make the girl be his own daughter? Nice touch, Santa!

To MIKE KILROY, an avid Buffalo Bills fan: A clutch late-season win — at some point, some year.

To SCOTT STONER, Butler wrestling coach: A win over North Allegheny.

To the CLEVELAND BROWNS: A win over anybody.

To MIKE KING, former Knoch football coach: A lenghy, healthy and enjoyable retirement.

To MIKE TOMLIN, Steelers football coach: A well-wrapped, mistake-free win over the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field.

To ED CONTO, Karns City football coach: An award declaring him one of the top prep football coaches in Western Pennsylvania.

To DARLENE ENRIETTO, my wife: Stephon Curry, LeBron James, Reggie Miller, Tony Parker, Dirk Nowitzski, Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose all playing for the same NBA team.

To DEREK PYDA, Eagle sports writer: A chance to watch Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown win a Super Bowl together. You never know how many more chances they’ll get.

To the SPORTS WORLD AND FANS EVERYWHERE: Appreciation for the good things we have in life, whether our team is playing for a championship or the first overall draft pick.
