PA Lyndora man is accused of breaking into a Butler woman’s home after she spurned his romantic interest.

The smitten suspect confronted the woman and stole her television, city police said, telling her that she was not going to watch TV without him.

Police continue to seek 54-year-old Ronald Roberts, who is wanted on an arrest warrant for last week’s break-in in the 200 block of Fairview Avenue. He is charged with burglary.

The 30-year-old target of Roberts’ affection told police that the defendant, a co-worker, asked her over to his house for dinner on Dec. 7, according to court documents.

The woman accepted the invitation but she never went to the suspect’s home. When she failed to show, he repeatedly called her on the telephone. But the victim never answered.

Roberts allegedly texted her that he was coming over to her apartment.

Later, police said, while the woman was watching a movie on TV with her son, the defendant showed up. He knocked on the door but got no answer.

His infatuation with the woman apparently got the better of him, and he climbed through a window next to the door, smashing a laundry basket on his way in.

He walked into the living room and “began questioning (the victim) as to why she would not answer him,” a police affidavit said.

The woman ordered the intruder to leave and told him she was calling police.

In turn, documents said, he picked up the 32-inch flat-screen television she was watching and disconnected it, telling her, “If you’re not going to watch a movie with me, you’re not going to watch a movie at all.”

Police said Roberts left the apartment, TV in tow.
