Laurel A. Hughes, 69, of Mars, formerly of Butler, died Tuesday morning at Katera's Kove in Wampum.

Born Sept. 4, 1947, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William “Buck” and Ann Dorfner Adler.

Laurel and her husband, Jerry, are the owners of Brickyard Kennels in Mars, and she was a member of the Butler Dog Training Association.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry Hughes, who she married July 16, 1994; her stepdaughter, Brandie Birckbichler, and her husband, Brian, of Butler; her step-granddaughter, Breanna Birckbichler; her sister, Judy Reinhardt of Montana; and two brothers, Don Adler and his wife, Becky, and Ron Adler and his wife, Dawn, both of Bethel Park.
