J. Stevenson Suess

J. Stevenson Suess

J. Stevenson Suess, eponymously surviving, passed away Wednesday.

He was born April 16, 1951, whose proudest achievement was to give that name, in various forms, to that and those that deserved it.

As William Shakespeare wrote, “That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet,” is how his legacy shall live on.

He was a father to four successful children, dedicated partner and attorney. His bequest is to us that live, that we shall harbor his name because its sweetness is and forever will be distinct.

The son of the late Martha Stevenson Suess, he graduated from Butler High School in 1969 and earned Juris Doctor degree at the University of Louisville. He entered the Pennsylvania State Bar in 1976. Steve worked as an attorney in Butler County for more than 40 years. He enjoyed skiing, flying, boating and college basketball.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Lee Gallo, who died Oct. 30, 1999.

He is survived by his partner, Jean Rebecca Sarvey. He also is survived by his children, Mike Stevenson Suess and his wife, Carrie; Maggie Jane Radich and her husband, Tommy; Jarrod Stevenson Suess and his wife, Dana; and Amy Elizabeth Suess.

His grandchildren are Thomas, Jacqueline, Benjamin, Cameron, Sophia and Jordan.
