Dennis J. Derringer
Dennis J. Derringer, 62, of Butler Township passed away Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
He was born May 26, 1954, in Harrison Township, the son of Adela I. Kocon Derringer of East Deer Township and the late Frederick R. Derringer.
He also was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Derringer, in 1963.
Dennis has lived the past 30 years in Butler Township, where he was employed at Marmon/Keystone Corp., most recently serving as the vice president of quality and operations.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed officiating soccer, baseball and basketball in the local community for 25 years.
Dennis graduated in 1972 from Highlands High School and in 1976 from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was a member of the basketball team. Dennis's greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren, Teagan and Daphne.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Ellen Farina Derringer; his children, Dennis G. Derringer of Allison Park and his fiancée, Kaitlin Domanoski of Verona, and Danielle E. (Francis A.) Krouse III of Avon, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Teagan Derringer and Daphne Krouse. Also surviving are his siblings, Frederick “Fred” R. (Christine D.) Derringer of Harwick, Pa., and Deborah (Eric) Joswig of Humatella, Fla.
DERRINGER — Visitation for Dennis J. Derringer, who died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Duster Funeral Home, 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum.A Christian funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
