Gerald L. Nowakowski
Gerald L. Nowakowski, 80, died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital with all his family at his side.
Born Aug. 17, 1936, in Butler, he was a son of the late Peter and Mona Hawk Nowakowski.

His family has had the honor and privilege to have Gerald Lee Nowakowski as a husband, father and grandfather. He was a loving, intelligent, happy, brave, kind, hardworking, selfless, respectful and witty person. God blessed us all over the years with his songs, rhymes and riddles, golfing, beach trips, Jeeps, leaf piles, picking berries, sleepovers, dancing to Johnny Cash, annual Easter egg hunts, stinky the sock and the first time he held his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. You put light and joy in all of our lives and went above and beyond to be the best husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving is his wife, Judith A. Kennedy Nowakowski, who he married May 4, 1957; three children, James Glenn (Trena Raub) Nowakowski, Kimberly Diane (Robert Dellen) Johnston and Pamela Sue (Ronald McKinney) McKinney; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Nowakowski, Chelsea Johnston, Shelby Johnston, Joshua Johnston, Alyssa McKinney (Caleb Dodd) Dodd, Ashley McKinney (Jeremy Stirling) Stirling and Samantha McKinney; two great-grandchildren, Brody Kohyn Stirling and Rhys Julian Stirling; his siblings, Donald Nowakowski, Darryl (Karen) Nowakowski and Bonita Nowakowski (John McPherson) Randolph.
