Albert Edward Bonetti

Albert Edward Bonetti, 83, of Centerville Pike, Slippery Rock, died Sunday evening at his home.

Born Oct. 4, 1933, in Boyers, he was the son of the late James Vincent Bonetti and Carmella Minnie Diana Bonetti. He married Joanne Hoffman July 15, 1960, and she survives at home.

Mr. Bonetti first worked for U.S. Steel in the Boyers mine then for Pullman Standard. He retired from Local Teamsters 261 of New Castle.

Al served his country during the Korean War, was a member of Harrisville American Legion and was past commander of Slippery Rock V.F.W.

He was affiliated with United Methodist Church of Slippery Rock. He enjoyed working in his garage, hunting and being with his family and his beloved dog, Digger.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Albert “Eddie” Bonetti Jr. of Tallmadge, Ohio, Joe Bonetti and his wife, Liliya, of Slippery Rock and Michael B. Bonetti and his wife, Dina, of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Virginia Hockenberry of Harrisville and Carmella Critchlow of Butler; and three brothers, Eugene of Butler, Furrie of Slippery Rock and Jim Bonetti of Boyers. Five grandchildren, three adopted grandchildren and five great-grandchildren complete the family.

He is preceded in death by five brothers: Frank, Andy, Joe, Guy and Tony.

BONETTI — Visitation for Albert Edward Bonetti, who died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the funeral service Thursday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by military honors. The Rev. Keith M. McIlwain of United Methodist Church of Slippery Rock will officiate.
