Paul Edward Olesnevich
Paul Edward Olesnevich, 76, of Kittanning passed away unexpectedly Tuesday from injuries sustained in a car crash in Stuart, Fla.
Paul was born Jan. 15, 1940, in Pittsburgh, to Paul and Irene Olesnevich. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1957.
Paul was an excellent automotive mechanic; his specialty was welding. He owned a tractor-trailer repair garage for a number of years. After this, he and his wife, Nancy, took on the monumental task of remodeling a renaissance-style home, converting it into a premier assisted living care facility, the Melody Manor, for the aged, which they ran for several years.
Paul deeply enjoyed attending the Indianapolis 500; this was his 50th consecutive year of attendance. He traveled extensively throughout the U.S. His joy of fishing was instilled by his father and stayed with him throughout his life.
Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Stewart-Olesnevich; his parents; and his brother, Jimmy.
Paul is survived by his sons, Chris (Ann) Olesnevich of Florida, Curt (Lorna) Olesnevich of Oklahoma and Bryan (Regina) Olesnevich of Tarentum; his daughter, Barbara (Greg) Gottner of Florida; his stepsons, Donald (Kathy) Stewart of Fenelton and Daniel (Cathy) Stewart of West Virginia; his stepdaughter, Shaunee (Rick) Horstman of Fenelton; his brothers, Mark, Charles, John, Rich, Ed and Dan; his sisters, Cecelia Wilcox and Sue Meyers; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
OLESNEVICH — Friends of Paul Edward Olesnevich, who died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home in Worthington. Interment will be at the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Special Olympics are appreciated.
