Ronald L. Shirey
Ronald L. Shirey, 81, of West Sunbury passed away Sunday at UPMC Passavant.
Ron was born April 1, 1935, in Butler Township. He was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Shirey and the late Hazel Matilda Caldwell Shirey. Ron was a welder at Pullman Standard. He also was a farmer and operated Shirey's Farm Market for a number of years.
Ron is survived by his wife, Rita Irene Cloud Shirey, who he married Jan. 14, 1985; one daughter, Ruth (John) Bosanic of West Sunbury; one son, David (Thersa) Shirey of West Sunbury; two stepdaughters, Dreama (Frank) McCall of West Sunbury and Autumn (Donald) Miller of Mercer; three stepsons, William Gould of North Carolina, Robert Gould of Butler and Phillip Gould of West Sunbury; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Shirey of East Liverpool, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Ron was preceded in death by one brother.
SHIREY — Friends of Ronald L. Shirey, who died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert V.
