An Evans City man accused of trading nude photos with an underage girl over Facebook in 2015 could serve nearly two years in prison after being sentenced in Butler County court Tuesday on one count of corruption of minors.

Travis C. McCandless, 23, of Leopard Road, was sentenced to time served to 24 months less one day in Butler County Prison, and given credit for 151 days already served.

The sentence also requires McCandless to serve 12 months of probation following his jail stay, and bars him from having any contact with the victim — a 15-year-old girl who lives in the Prospect area with whom McCandless allegedly had inappropriate exchanges over a span of several months.

In December of last year a Facebook employee notified state police about the inappropriate exchanges, and in April police discovered sexually explicit photos and conversations between the two. McCandless was initially arrested on June 25 and faced charges of sexual abuse of children, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors.
