Regis LeFebvre Sr.
Regis W. LeFebvre Sr., 81, of Portersville, passed away peacefully with his wife, Dee, at his side Thursday.
Regis was born in Pittsburgh to Leo F. and Mary Caveney LeFebvre on March 5, 1935. He was raised in the Harmony area on a farm. At the age of 18, he entered the Army. After leaving the service, Regis met Delores Weitzel and immediately knew that she was the great love of his life. The first date ended with a trip to the emergency room and that set the tone for the duration of their years together. They married on June 30, 1958, and she spent her days since doting on and caring for her beloved Reg.
Regis spent the rest of his career as the owner-operator of his trucking company, working for New Castle Junk Company, Crane Company, Moore Flesher Company, and recently, Manheim Auto Auction. He retired at 62 years old and enjoyed gardening, camping, snowmobiling, reading on the back porch and operating his golf cart. He was a simple, yet unique, man who could make anyone, anywhere, laugh!
Regis leaves behind his wife, Delores, of 58 years, and their three children, Karen Gordon of Butler, Loree (Gregory) Sydow of California, and Regis W. LeFebvre Jr. and his friend, Barbara, of New Castle. Regis was blessed with three granddaughters, Brandie Schandelmeier of Cranberry Township, Bobbie Sue (Matt) LeFebvre of New Castle and Blaine Schandelmeier of Phoenix, Ariz; one grandson, Landon Gordon of Butler, and great-grandchildren, Isabella and Nicholas Oldaker of Cranberry Township. All will miss their “Papa” beyond measure. He also is survived by his brother, Donald (Naomi) LeFebvre of Harmony, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Daniel; his sister, Katherine Kelly; his niece, Diane, his nephew, Joseph, and his son-in-law, Norman.
