WILMERDING — Four local powerlifters won their respective divisions at the Sons of Thunder Powerlifting’s Powerhouse Teen Bench Press & Deadlift meet at the Wilmerding YMCA over the weekend.

Eli Morrison, 18, of Freeport won the Outstanding Bench Presser award with a lift of 280 and body weight of 128. Jayden Renfrew, 18, of Cabot won the Outstanding Deadlifter award with a lift of 440 pounds and body weight of 144.

Jacob Borland, 18, of Saxonburg won the 198-pound bench press class with a lift of 395. Shane Miller, 18, of Butler won the 220-pound deadlift class with a lift of 565.

Singleton youngest Turkey Trot winner

Chris Singleton, 12, became the youngest overall winner in the history of the Butler YMCA Turkey Trot recently, completing the 5K course in 19 minutes, 20 seconds.

He topped a field of 246 runners in doing so.

Singleton is a member of the Butler Catholic cross country team and Get Fit Families running club in Cranberry Township.
