David John Colton

David John Colton, 80, of Portersville, formerly of Bridgeville, passed away Sunday.

He is survived by his children, David H. Colton, Deona Colton Miller and Kirsten (Dean) Rogers; his grandchildren, Nick Miller, Malayna (Brin) Stefaniszyn, Colton Miller and Matthew Colton; his great-grandson, Loden Stefaniszyn; his brother, Dr. Donald Colton; and his niece and nephews.

He also is survived by his beloved, Beatrice Turner, and her family, Jay Turner, Joy (Wes) Notovitz, Jack Turner and Bill Turner; and his grandchildren, Travis and Cody Turner, Mandy (Chris) Kennedy, and Dayton and Meleea Turner.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Harold and Florine (Buchanan) Colton; and his siblings, Glenn Colton and Helen Ramsey.

David was a U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was raised in the Bethany Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock. He was a member of the Bridgeville American Legion. He was an entrepreneur and salesman; he loved to travel, golf, swim and read, and, above all else, he loved his family.

COLTON — Friends of John David Colton, who died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Warchol Funeral Home, 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, where a service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday.Interment with full military honors to follow in Melrose Cemetery.
