Bessie V. Panei
Bessie V. Panei, 89, of Butler passed away Saturday in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born in East Brady on Oct. 5, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Edna McElroy McCanna.
Bessie had worked at D&K Store, Fashion Bug, Diana Shop, various restaurants and as a senior aide through the Senior Aide Program of Butler County.
She was a member of East Brady Baptist Church.
Bessie was an avid card player and a member of TOPS.
She is survived by five children, Nancy Swain, Linda Hinchberger, Fred Panei and Daniel Panei, all of Butler, and Michele Skarada and her husband, Tim, of Altoona; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Reggie” Panei, who passed away Jan. 14, 1985; four sisters; and one brother.
PANEI — Friends of Bessie V. Panei, who died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Bessie's nephew, the Rev. Tom Pesci, officiating.Burial will be private.
