William James Cooper Sr.
William James Cooper Sr., 84, of Grayling, Mich., formerly of Butler, passed away Wednesday.
He married Marjorie Elizabeth Houghton on Nov. 25, 1956, in Boston, Mass. He served in the U.S. Navy as a chief dental technician.
William is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his children, Cheryl Ann (Jim) Cooper of Michigan, William James (Debra) Cooper Jr. of Butler, John Robert (Susan) Cooper of Oil City, David Wayne Cooper of Michigan, Neil Robert (Tina) Cooper of Butler and Theresa Ann (James) Minor of Michigan; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Minah Potacek and Grace (Ralph) Scherder of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Charles Scherder.
COOPER — Visitation for William James Cooper Sr., who died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, Mich., with a service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sorensonlockwood.com.
