Teresa V. DeCola

Teresa V. DeCola, 93, of Slippery Rock passed away at 11:10 a.m. Monday at her home.

She was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Osborne, to Natale Agostino and Mary Josephine Tartaglione Agostino. She married Mario F. DeCola on Jan. 8, 1949, and he preceded her in death July 23, 2002.

Teresa worked for Slippery Rock University in the Weisenfluh Dining Hall and the College Grill. She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Slippery Rock. She loved cooking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, John D. DeCola and his wife, Mary Jo, of Slippery Rock, and Dennis E. DeCola and his wife, Joanne, of Butler; two sisters, who also were special caregivers, Mary Ann Nill and Roseanna Tackett of Slippery Rock; her brother, Frank Agostino of Slippery Rock; five grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Thomas, Marissa and Mark DeCola; a number of nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Tammy Ross, Cathy Saylor and Kim DeMatteis.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Catherine Agostino and Clara Leone; and two brothers, Nickolas and Dominick Agostino.

DECOLA — The family of Teresa V. DeCola, who died Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Slippery Rock with the Rev. Bob Seeman, pastor of St. Peter, presiding.
