Man, 52, charged in child porn case

PENN TWP — A 52-year-old man allegedly acknowledged downloading hundreds of child pornography images in 2014.

Patrick J. Harper on Wednesday was charged with dissemination of child pornography, criminal use of a communication facility and 50 counts of possessing child pornography.

According to court records, investigators approached Harper at his Mount Laurel Drive home in September 2014, and questioned him about the allegations.

A criminal affidavit filed by state police alleges Harper acknowledged searching for and downloading child pornography, both still shots and videos. According to the affidavit, Harper estimated that he’d had 400 or 500 still images and about a dozen videos, according to court records.

Harper, who reportedly said he knew looking at child pornography was illegal, reportedly told investigators that he deleted all the illegal material off his computer the day he was interviewed.

Investigators examined the computer and determined that it had contained eight videos and more than 500 images of child pornography.

Neither the trooper who filed the charges nor the attorney listed as representing Harper could be reached for comment.
