Butler grad Weyand top defensive playerERIE — Butler graduate and Penn State Behrend women’s soccer junior defender Rachel Weyand has been named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year,The Lions posted nine shutouts in 16 wins this season and allowed only three goals in nine AMCC contests. Weyand scored two goals and added four assists while starting every game.

Cabot’s Jones Titan of WeekNEW WILMINGTON — First-year Westminster College swimmer Abby Jones, a Cabot resident, has been named Titan of the Week.In Saturday’s win over Allegheny, Jones won the 100 breast stroke in 1 minute, 11.65 seconds, the 200 breast in 2:36.45 and 200 IM in 2:20.54. She also swam the second leg of the winning 200 medley relay.
