Slippery Rock man arrested for assault

EVANS CITY — A Slippery Rock man was arrested last month for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in a convenience store parking lot.

Joshua M. Ambler, 27, Tuesday waived to court simple assault and harassment charges stemming from an incident on the night of Oct. 23.

Jackson Township police were called to the Buy-N-Fly on Route 68 after an employee there called 911 to report a woman with blood on her face, according to court records.

After interviewing witnesses, the victim and Ambler, police allege that the two were having an argument and Ambler elbowed the woman in her face, causing swelling to her mouth and lip area. Ambler allegedly told police that she hit him first and that they were arguing because they got lost while coming home from a Steelers tailgate party.

He was released from Butler County Prison Tuesday on $10,000 bail.
