EVANS CITY — A Sarver man appeared in district court last week after allegedly driving with three times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood and resisting arrest.

Michael J. Oehling, 25, waived to court multiple charges including DUI — second offense, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, failure to notify police of an accident and other traffic violations.

Adams Township police, Quality EMS, Adams Area Fire District and Callery Fire Department were dispatched to 506 Valencia Road at 5:05 p.m. on Oct. 14 for a vehicle accident, according to court records.

Police allegedly found Oehling unconscious behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi Eclipse that had gone down an embankment and into a farmer's fence. He allegedly smelled strongly of alcohol and there was an alcoholic beverage in a coffee cup in the car.

He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment and to have his blood tested. Later that day officers visited him in the hospital to place him under arrest and he allegedly became disruptive and uncooperative, refusing to put his hands behind his back. A blood test allegedly revealed that he had a 0.267 percent blood-alcohol level, well above the 0.08 percent legal limit.

He was released from Butler County Prison on $5,000 unsecured bail after his hearing Oct. 25.
