One afternoon, two accidents on Interstate 79.

Three vehicles were involved in the second crash, which occurred on Interstate 79 heading south near mile marker 86.

Part of the right lane on I-79 southbound is closed as workers tend to the accident that occurred around 2:50 p.m.

Harmony Fire District officials said everyone involved is refusing medical treatment.

A Toyota Highlander sustained heavy front end damage while a Volkswagen Passat sustained heavy left rear and front end damage.

A Jaguar S-Type also received minor rear damage.

Traffic is slowed down, but moving.

Earlier a woman was transported to Allegheny General Hospital by Harmony EMS from injuries she sustained in a one-car crash on Interstate-79 heading north near the Route 68 exit.

Witnesses saw her car hit a guide rail, roll over multiple times and end up off the road, said Brian Dambaugh, Assistant Fire Chief for Harmony Fire District.

The accident was reported shortly after noon and emergency responders were on scene until about 1:30 p.m. Northbound traffic was restricted to one lane while the car was towed.

Though a helicopter was put on standby, but the woman was tranported via ambulance, Dambaugh said.

State police are investigating the cause of the accident.
