Marjorie R. Junker, 83, of Chicora passed away unexpectedly Friday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late William Russell and Edith Weinhaus Russell.

She and her husband started Junkers Greenhouse in 1968 and then opened Junkers Flower Shop in 1978. She was very active in Saint Paul's Community Church of Christ and was a member of the church choir, the women's guild and was a former elder of the church. She also taught Sunday school for many years. She was a treasurer of the East Brady Senior Citizens and was treasurer of the Salvation Army, Chicora Unit.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce C. Junker, who she married Nov. 26, 1952. She was a very loving and giving mother and grandmother and is also survived by her daughters, Elaine and Todd Marshall of Webster Groves, Mo., Karen and David Conrad of Valrico, Fla., Brenda and David Bly of Karns City; one son, Bruce K. and Kathy Junker of Butler; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Westman.

JUNKER — Friends of Marjorie R. Junker, who died Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery and Main streets, downtown Chicora, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Paul Community Church, 2167 State Route 268, Chicora. The services will be officiated by the Rev. Ryan Lucas, pastor.
