1 injured in I-79 crash
JACKSON TWP — A woman was injured in a one-car crash on Interstate-79 near the Route 68 exit Friday afternoon.
Witnesses saw her northbound car hit a guide rail, roll over multiple times and end up off the road, said Brian Dambaugh, Assistant Fire Chief for Harmony Fire District.
The accident was reported shortly after noon and emergency responders were on scene until about 1:30 p.m. Northbound traffic was restricted to one lane while the car was towed.
Though a helicopter was put on standby, the driver was taken to Allegheny General Hospital by Harmony EMS, Dambaugh said.
State police are investigating the cause of the accident.
