Joseph Martin Cosgrove Jr.

Joseph Martin Cosgrove Jr., 83, of Meadville, Pa., passed away Saturday at Wesbury with his loving family by his side.

He was born May 5, 1933, in Kittanning, the son of the late Joseph Martin Cosgrove Sr. and Josephine Reefer Cosgrove.

Joseph graduated from Shannock Valley School District. He then joined the U.S. Army where he proudly served in the Korean War. He worked on tanks as a specialized mechanic. Joseph worked at Western Auto and later retired from PPG Industries.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was also a member of the West Mead Fire Hall. He enjoyed putting together models, puzzles and collecting various items.

Joseph is survived by one daughter, Sherry Kabel and her husband, James, of Fenelton, Pa.; two brothers, James Cosgrove and his wife, Martha, of Barberton, Ohio, and Robert Cosgrove and his wife, Linda, of Hadley, Pa.; three grandchildren, Keith Clark and his wife, Anna, Kelly Bahorich and her husband, JR, and Kurtis Kabel; five great-grandchildren, Cody, Cole, Emma, Tiffany and Sierra; two great-great-grandchildren, Cayden and Cambrie; his partner of 11 years, Yuan Dilly of Meadville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Joseph was preceded in death by his infant son, Terry Joe Cosgrove; two sisters, Mary Cosgrove and Helen Cosgrove; and two brothers, John Cosgrove and Thomas Cosgrove.

COSGROVE — Family and friends of Joseph Martin Cosgrove Jr., who died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Hatheway Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville, Pa.
