James “Jim” C. Riddle

James “Jim” C. Riddle, 90, of Mercer Street Ext., Harrisville, passed away Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Born July 8, 1926, in Grove City, James was the son of the late Charles A. and Edna Cokain Riddle.

James graduated in 1944 from Grove City High School and after graduation joined the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II from 1944 to 1947. He married his beloved wife, Doris “Dori” Bovard Riddle, Oct. 25, 1958, and they raised their two sons, Rodney and Brian in Harrisville.

Jim was a truck driver for his entire life and logged more than 3 million miles. He loved watching football and baseball, especially the Steelers and Pirates. He loved to hunt with his beagles as well as fish. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and American Legion Post 852. Jim was Protestant.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his sister, Charlene McCullough of Sharpsville; his aunt, Sophia Riddle of Wesley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his two sons, Brian Riddle in January 2016 and Rodney Riddle in June of 2009. He also was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles “Les,” Donald and Lynn Riddle; and one sister, Mary Rose.

RIDDLE — Family and friends of James “Jim” C. Riddle, who died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, are welcome from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.A service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Lester A. Rowan, pastor at Wayside Community Church, officiating.
