Helen E. “Betty” Smith Wiseman

Helen E. “Betty” Smith Wiseman, 95, a 5-year resident of Chicora Medical Center, formerly of Neville Island, Pa., passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday.

She was born July 8, 1921, in Pittsburgh, to the late Sara Mackey and Edward Samuel Smith Sr.

On July 6, 2011, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John A. Wiseman.

Helen was the beloved stepmother of Francis “Pete” (Pamela) Wiseman of Rimersburg; the cherished grandmother of Chris (Lori) Wiseman, Amy (Ryan) Wilson, Bethany Wiseman, Kelli (Dustin) Kifer and the late Lisa Marie Wiseman; the proud great-grandmother of Zack, Sammy, Luke, Cole, Peyton, Parker, Andrew, Emma and Olivia; the sister of the late Edward Samuel Smith; and the special aunt to Edward (Joy) Smith, William (Donna) Smith, David (Suzanne) Smith and to numerous loving great-nieces and great-nephews.

Betty was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Coraopolis who enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint.

WISEMAN — Visitation for Helen E. Wiseman, who died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, will be at 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Copeland Funeral Home, 867 Fifth Ave., Coraopolis. The Rev. Mark Hiner will officiate. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.The family would like to thank the Chicora medical staff of Memory Lane for their love, kindness and excellent care.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her name to the First Baptist Church of Coraopolis, 1443 Coraopolis Heights Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
