Stephen T. Hika Jr.

Stephen T. Hika Jr., 72, of Cadogan, Pa., died Saturday at Allegheny Valley Hospital.

Born Feb. 28, 1944, in Kittanning, he was the son of Stephen T. Hika Sr. and Helen Phillippi Hika. He was a lifelong resident of Cadogan.

Stephen served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He later retired as a technical manager from Moonlight Mushrooms.

Stephen attended the St. Lawrence Church in Cadogan, and he enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the VFW of Ford City, the Ford City Eagles and the American Legion in Cowensville, and was a former member of the Latin American Club.

Stephen is survived by his son, Stephen T. Hika III of Cadogan; two grandchildren, Robert Dale Damore Jr. and Chelsea Lynn Hockenberry; and his brothers, Mark Hika and his wife, Beverly, of Worthington and Gregory Hika and his wife, Patricia, of Kittanning.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Natalie Williams Hika; his daughter, Stacy Ann Hika; and his brother, Johnathan Michael Hika.

HIKA — Friends of Stephen T. Hika Jr., who died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 11:30 a.m. until the time of a prayer service at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the MANTINI FUNERAL HOME, 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City.A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday at the St. Lawrence Church in Cadogan with the Rev. John Harrold officiating. Interment will be at the Holy Trinity Cemetery.
