James Fischer

James Fischer, 79, of Butler, passed away Friday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

He was born April 7, 1937, in Butler, the son of the late George and Josephine Weiland Fischer.

James was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. He was retired from Armco after 40 years. James was honorably discharged from the United States Army where he was a sergeant and served overseas. He was a life member of the NRA and also a member of the American Legion, Lyndora Post 778.

Surviving are his wife, Karen Benson Fischer of Butler, who he married June 6, 1964; three daughters, Christine (Scott) Bachman of Butler; Joni Fischer of Butler; Terri (Daniel) McMullen of Union, Ky.; a son, James (Hally) Fischer Jr. of Harrisville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mary Louise Hougg and Georgia Geiser, both of Butler.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

FISCHER — Friends of James Fischer, who passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St.Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., with Rev.
