Sheryl B. “Fergie” Ferguson

Sheryl B. “Fergie” Ferguson, 84, of Sligo, Pa., passed away Thursday at Clarview Nursing Home.

He was born June 29, 1932, in Eau Claire, Pa., the son of Robert Lee Ferguson and LaVera B. Seelabaugh Ferguson.

Fergie was a resident of Clarion County since 1978 and worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He was a member of New Athens Church of God of Prophecy. Fergie enjoyed working on his farm and playing horseshoes in his spare time. He also loved pulling draft horses and worked with many teams of horses throughout his lifetime. Fergie will be best remembered for his caring personality and being a loving father and grandfather.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Ruth L. Conner Ferguson, who he married Nov. 23, 1986; his sons, Jeffrey Ferguson and his wife, M. Kyong, of Washington, and Greg Ferguson and his wife, Whitney, of Vernal, Utah; his daughters, Dianne Bevel and her husband, Dave, of Kentucky, Cheryl Gray and her husband, David, of Cochranton, Pa., Holly Kay McKinney, of Hermitage, Pa., and Leslie Ferguson, of Harrisburg, Pa.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his stepsons, William Beckstine and his wife, Susan, of Idaho, Clinton Kifer and his friend, Laurie, of Parker and Michael Kifer and his wife, Susie, of Parker; his stepdaughters, Crystal Wolfgong and her husband, Jeff, of Parker and Dixie Morris and her husband, Jim, of Sligo; numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and his sisters, Ruth Felix of Forestville, Pa., and Betty Barnhart, Faye Pompa and Peggy MaGee, all of Grove City.

Fergie was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ester Mae Ferguson; his son, Michael Ferguson; his brother, Ray Ferguson; and his sister, Alma Crisman.

FERGUSON — The family of Sheryl B. “Fergie” Ferguson, who died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main St., Rimersburg.At the family's request, funeral services will be private.Burial will be at Mt.
