Eva Gail “Evie” Simpson Jordan, 93, of Elizabethtown, Pa., formerly of Butler, passed away Thursday at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown.

Born June 29, 1923, she was the daughter of Francis Simpson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 wonderful years, Clyde W. Jordan, on June 2, 2016.

She lived in Oakland and graduated from Schenley High School in 1941. She married Clyde Jordan on Nov. 14, 1945, and they moved to Butler.

Evie worked for several years at the J.C. Penney store in downtown Butler.

She will be fondly remembered for being an excellent cook and baker. Every Saturday morning the table was filled with her baked goods. Her heart was with her family.

Evie is survived by three sons, Robert (Marsha) Jordan of Butler, Kirk (Mary) Jordan of Zelienople and Paul (Patti) of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas Simpson of Gibsonia.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Russel; and her infant daughter, Lizabeth Jordan.
