Jean L. Austin

Jean L. Austin, 87, of Mars died Saturday afternoon at the Arbors III of St. Barnabas.

Born Jan. 4, 1929, in Homestead, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Lillian Williams Anderson.

Jean was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, the North Suburban Fine Arts League and the Butler and Treesdale Country Clubs.

Surviving are a daughter, Lisa (Greg) Austin of Tarentum; her son, John (Carrie) Austin of Mars; her sister, Mary Lou (Eugene) Estok of Bowie, Md.; her grandchildren, Ryan Henderson, Robbie (Marquis) Clancy, and Jack and Lindsay Austin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” T. Austin, who she married July 2, 1949, and who died Oct. 19, 2011; and her brother, Eugene Anderson; and two sisters, Sharon Yonkavitz and Arlene Flamm.

AUSTIN — Friends of Jean L. Austin, who died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Donn Ed officiating.
