The Pa. pheasant season kicks off Saturday with the start of a one-week season for junior hunters.

The season opens for hunters statewide Oct. 22 and runs through Nov. 26. It reopens Dec. 12 and ends on the last day of February.

Approximately 240,000 pheasants are scheduled for release statewide this season. Nearly 100,000 hunters participate in Pa. pheasant season and contribute $30 million to $40 million to the state’s economy.
