Naomi L. Fowler

Naomi L. Fowler, 89, of Country Springs, Sligo, formerly of Route 38 near Eau Claire, passed away Saturday afternoon surrounded by her loving family at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler, following a period of declining health.

Born Dec. 2, 1926, in Rimersburg, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Dale and Mary Lucille Forbes Carmichael.

On May 15, 1948, she married Robert Isaac Fowler, who preceded her in death March 5, 2004.

She was a longtime member and active in the workings of the Eau Claire Presbyterian Church. She later became affiliated with the Six Points Church of God near Eau Claire.

Naomi was a dedicated, caring secretary at the former Washington Elementary School building of the Moniteau School District, where she was employed many years.

She enjoyed music including, singing in church choirs and playing the piano, and was a dedicated member of the North Butler County Music Club for many years.

Left to cherish her memory, are four children and their spouses, Lewis (Linda) Fowler of Hilliards, Susan (Gary) Marshall of Harrisville, Janet (Jon) Schutz of Warsaw, Ind., and Tina (Steven) Prokay of Eldorado; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews also survive. Also surviving are four siblings, Dorothy Carmichael Fowler of Country Springs, the Rev. Judith (Cecil) Murray of Lafayette, Ind., Vernon (Pat) Carmichael of California and Dean (Pat) Carmichael of Cranberry, Venango County.

FOWLER — Friends of Naomi L. Fowler, who died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Six Points Church of God of Prophecy, Route 58, East of Eau Claire, in the village of Six Points, where funeral services will be at 7:15 p.m. with the Rev. Brent McMasters and the Rev. Judith Murray officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Rimersburg Cemetery.Funeral Arrangements are being handled by the H.
