Judith E. “Judy” Brennen Roxberry, 63, of West Sunbury passed away Friday surrounded by her loving family at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 21, 1953, in Butler, she was the daughter of Norma Jean Browne Brennen, who lives at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and the late Glenn Edward Brennen II.

Judy began her nursing career as an aide and while working and raising her family continued her schooling and received her licensed practical nursing degree. Judy worked for the Sugar Creek Rest for 26 years and retired in 2011 from the Butler County Prison after three years of service.

She loved to do ceramics and paint and enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband and family. Judy especially loved spending time with her granddaughters while baking cookies.

She was a special soul who always brought laughter to any occasion. Even in the final days of her battle with cancer, her thoughts were always on brightening someone else's day.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.

In addition to her mother, Judy leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 44 years, James Roxberry. They were married Dec. 9, 1971.

She also is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa McCloskey and her husband, Timothy, of West Sunbury; four adored granddaughters, Brittany, Savanna, McKenzie and Kaitlin McCloskey; her brother, Glenn E. Brennen III and his wife, Patricia, of Butler; her sister, Sherry Halm and her husband, Donald, of Butler; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her father, Judy was preceded in death by two infant sons and three infant daughters.
