Biden, Sanders to appear in Pa.BRISTOL, Pa. — Vice President Joe Biden will be in Pennsylvania today, stumping for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, with Sen. Bernie Sanders doing the same on Saturday.Biden is scheduled to speak at Bucks County Community College in Bristol just before noon.Sanders, who lost to Clinton in the primary, will appear at the Scranton High School gym at 10:30 a.m.Biden will be encouraging students to register to vote before Tuesday’s deadline.Sanders’ appearance is being held by the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, the state’s two teachers’ unions. He’ll also be speaking in support of Katie McGinty, the Democratic challenger to Republican U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey.

Senate race raises $10M in final stretchHARRISBURG — Republican U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey and his Democratic challenger Katie McGinty each say they raised about $5 million in the last fundraising quarter before Pennsylvania’s Nov. 8 election.Toomey’s campaign said Thursday it raised $5 million in the three months ending Sept. 30. McGinty’s campaign says it raised $5.2 million.The campaigns haven’t yet released spending figures for the quarter. Toomey entered the third quarter with about three times the campaign cash, $7.7 million to $2.4 million. Total spending by both campaigns, including last year, could exceed $40 million.More than $50 million in outside money has poured into the race since the primary, according to Federal Election Commission records.
