CRANBERRY TWP — A man was injured Thursday afternoon after his asphalt dump truck rolled over on Darlington Road.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. The unnamed driver was traveling south on Darlington Road around 1:40 p.m. when the truck from Wiest Asphalt Products & Paving rolled over off the road.

He escaped from the tipped-over truck on his own and escaped with a minor elbow injury. He was treated by township EMS.

Local resident Richard Wain made the call to 911. He was a witness to the crash.

“I heard an air horn sound,” Wain said. “I was walking around and saw the truck with the bed up and the next thing I know, he was tipped over.”

Wain’s mailboxes were damaged in the crash. The truck was not carrying any materials at the time of the crash.

“It could have been substantially worse,” Police Chief Kevin Meyer said.
