Scoop suddenly on a roll

I won’t bore you with a long introduction.

I was 10-1 last week. That’s 21-2 the last two weeks.

I’m awesome. And modest. Modesty may be my best quality.

On to the picks:

Central Catholic 49, Butler 11 — The Golden Tornado are coming off a win. Central Catholic, though, is a juggernaut that just seemingly can’t be stopped

When all five of your offensive linemen are getting Division I scholarships, you’re not known for three-and-outs.

Seneca Valley 27, Bethel Park 22 — In an intriguing non-section game, Seneca Valley’s triplets of quarterback Jack Cook, running back Hank Royal and wide receiver Payton Skalos hope to keep things rolling.

They will.

Knoch 19, Indiana 15 — The Knights squandered a lead last week in a loss to Montour.

They won’t do that again and will get a measure of revenge against Indiana in what shapes up as a must-win for both teams in terms of playoff hopes.

Mars 24, Thomas Jefferson 21 — Here’s another intriguing non-section matchup.

The two-headed running monster of Isaiah Johnson and Garrett Reinke has been terrorizing defenses lately.

They’ll need every yard from those two to beat undefeated TJ. They’ll get just enough.

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 32, Laurel 18 — Mario Latronica had a big game last week with 293 yards.

When he’s heated up, the Trojans are tough to stop.

Freeport 22, Apollo-Ridge 7 — The Yellowjackets’ defense is legit and their offense has done just enough to get wins.

That formula will be followed again.

Karns City 40, Clarion-Limestone 20 — Kaiden Powers has done it all for the Gremlins this season and is tied for the lead in the Butler Eagle Scoring Trophy race.

He’s booted five field goals, a bunch of extra points and has scored TDs on special teams, rushing and receiving.

He should get a few more points this week.

Moniteau 29, Brookville 15 — The Warriors look for a bounce-back performance this week and I think they’ll get it.

Moniteau has talent — most of it young. Once the Warriors put it together, watch out.

Union/A-C Valley 22, Punxsutawney 15 — U/ACV had a tough go of it last week on a soggy night.

The Falcon Knights will fly again.

Slippery Rock 22, Lakeview 13 — The Rockets need a win badly.

They’ll get it.

Grove City 47, DuBois 25 — This score may be a tad conservative. Both offenses are electric. It comes down to defense and Grove City has a much better one.

The Eagles’ offense has been flying high all season and DuBois is known for offensive fireworks in its own right. This game could feature some fireworks.

Summit Academy 35, Shenango 22 — A win would put the Knights at .500.

Scoop is 47-14 this season.
