Boy shot by brother, hospitalizedINDIANA, Pa. — State Police say a 10-year-old boy was hospitalized over the weekend after he was accidentally shot by his teenage brother in Indiana County.The 15-year-old boy was playing with the hammer and trigger on the weapon when it fired on Sunday. Police say the teen believed he had unloaded the .22-caliber pistol after using it for target practice earlier.The two boys were sitting across from one another in the living room of their Cherry Hill Township home when the gun went off.Police say the bullet traveled along the 10-year-old boy’s skull just underneath his skin. He was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Condition in stable condition before he was later transferred to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh as a precaution.

Police seek men for stadium threatSTATE COLLEGE — Penn State police are trying to identify two men seen on security video entering Beaver Stadium hours before Saturday’s football game against the University of Minnesota.Police say the men are believed to be connected to an unspecified threat at the stadium that day. The threat prompted police to search the stadium before allowing fans to enter. The game was played as scheduled.The men in the photo released by police on Monday appear to be college-aged white men. They video indicates they entered the stadium about 4:15 a.m. Saturday. Police alerted fans but gave the all-clear to enter the stadium about seven hours later.Police haven’t detailed the threat, which led to other increased security measures, too.

Bucks County man stung by scorpion WARMINSTER — A Pennsylvania man is recovering after he was stung by a scorpion that somehow got into his backpack while he was on vacation in the Caribbean.The 22-year-old Warminster resident had returned home from St. Thomas and reached into the pack to get his computer when he was stung.

Plant resumes after fish killedCONFLUENCE — A small hydroelectric power plant is operating again after hundreds of brown trout were found dead last week in a Western Pennsylvania river.The power operations at the Youghiogheny River Lake dam in Confluence resumed operations on Tuesday.The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which owns the dam, told the plant to suspend operations after investigators determined 230 fish had died when the plant’s water discharge contained high levels of nitrogen.Plant officials say the fish died from high water temperatures and poor water circulation.
