Dorothy M. Kennihan, 85, of Middlesex Township passed away Thursday in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.

Born June 25, 1931, in Bairdford, Allegheny County, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ethel (Pittman) Dillner and beloved wife for 63 years of the late Paul L. Kennihan, who died Feb. 3, 2015.

Dot worked for 24 years for the Mars School District. She was an active lifetime member and trustee of the Bairdford United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Hampton and Mars AARPs, the Women of Bakerstown Circle, Silver Sneakers and the Lighthouse. She was known for her remarkable baked goods.

She is survived by her children, Ron (Shannon) Kennihan of California, Diane (Gary) Wojcik of Seven Fields, Kim (Preeti) Kennihan of Upper St. Clair; her grandchildren, Eric (Christina), Kevin, Nikki (Jordan), Caitlin, Ian, Alex and Nicole; great-grandson, Jasper; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn (Loretta) of Gibsonia and Fred (Rose) Dillner of Shippensburg.

KENNIHAN — A memorial service for Dorothy M. Kennihan, who died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bairdford United Methodist Church. She will be laid to rest at the Bakerstown Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Bairdford U.M. Church at 390 Bairdford Road, Bairdford, PA 15006.Arrangements have been entrusted to the King Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Allison Park.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Dot's family at www.kingfuneralhome.com.
