Dennis John “Mac” McCormick Jr.
Dennis John “Mac” McCormick Jr., 70, of West Sunbury passed away Wednesday following an illness.
Dennis was born June 11, 1946, in Butler. He was the son of the late Alex McCormick and the late Mary Ellen Huselton McCormick.
Dennis proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, while stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army. He retired from AK Steel with 36 years of service as a roller. He also worked security at Sonneborn in Petrolia. Dennis was a member of the Saxonburg VFW and the American Legion Post 117 in Butler.
He enjoyed pitching horseshoes in the Butler County leagues and coached baseball for a number of years in West Sunbury.
Dennis is survived by two sons, Robert Paul “Rob” McCormick, and his wife, Christina (Lessner), of Butler and Dennis “DJ” McCormick, and his wife, Karen (Newton), of West Sunbury; and five grandchildren, Gretchen, Zachary, Benjamin, Josh and Desiree.
Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Swartzlander McCormick, who passed away Nov. 15, 2015; two sisters and two brothers.
