Raymond Kerr Thompson

Raymond Kerr Thompson, 63, of Ellwood City, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, passed away Saturday at Ellwood City Hospital.

He was born May 6, 1953, in New Castle to Edward Willis Thompson Sr. and Mary Elizabeth McConahy Thompson. He married Patti Jo Hebert on July 19, 1980.

He graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1973 and from New Castle Business College in 1979, where he received his degree in business administration.

Ray mostly worked in the field of security and retired from Traco in 2014, where he worked as a saw cutter. He most recently worked security in Pittsburgh on various feature movie and TV production sets.

Survivors include his wife, Patti Jo at home in Ellwood City; two sisters, Robin (Preston) Hutchins of Glasgow, Pa., and Jodi (Bob) Buchholz of Panama City, Fla.; his brother, Kenneth Andrew (Elaine) Thompson of New Castle; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Carolyn Jean Thompson and Lori Ann Thompson; and his brother, Edward W. Thompson,

THOMPSON — The family of Raymond Kerr Thompson, who died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Preston Hutchins, Raymond's brother-in-law, presiding.Memorial contributions may be given to the Feed My Sheep Food Cupboard, 324 N. Main St., Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
